Former Maldives President and President of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), Maumoon Abdul Gayoom met President Maithripala Sirisena onboard of the Emirates flight when he was travelling to Rome.

President Maithripala Sirisena has also tweeted "It was a pleasure meeting you @maumoonagayoom."
