The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) issued a gazette stating maximum retail prices (MRP) of rice varieties with effect from midnight yesterday(4).
Accordingly, a kilogramme of red/white samba-steamed/boiled (excluding suduru samba) should be sold at Rs.94, white/red raw samba at Rs. 94, white/red nadu at Rs.92 and the MRP of white/red raw rice is Rs.89.
Legal action will be taken against producers, millers or trader who sell or display above those prices, the CAA said.
