The Presidential Secretariat has issued two Extraordinary Gazettes ratifying the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as the new Prime Minister and confirming the resignation of Mahinda Rajapaksa from the post of PM.
The Gazette 2101/40, confirms the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as the country’s Prime Minister effective from Dec 16.
Gazette 2101/ 39 confirm Mr Rajapaksaś resignation.
Both gazettes have been signed by Secretary to the President, Udaya R Seneviratne.
