The Government Medical Officers Union (GMOA) met with Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi yesterday (Dec 5), the Health Ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, GMOA officers had highlighted issues pertaining to the health sector.
Accordingly, the immediate steps as well as the long and short term solutions to address these issues had been discussed at the meeting, the statement noted.
Meanwhile, the GMOA had also discussed certain proposals with regard to maintaining the quality of medical education in the country.
Health Minister Wanniarachchi had forwarded these proposals to the Health Ministry's Secretary and the Health Services Director General for relevant action.
