Ven Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero today (June 2) met with Parliamentarian Ven Athuraliye Rathana Thero who is engaged in a hunger strike in Kandy.
Rathana Thero commenced a fast-unto-death campaign opposite the Sri Dalada Maligawa temple on Friday.
The protest was centred around five demands including the resignation of Minister Rishad Bathiudeen along with Governors A.L.A.M Hizbullah and Azath Salley.
Speaking to the press, the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS)'s General Secretary Gnanasara Thera claimed that Minister M.H.A Haleem must be held responsible for the construction of Dirar mosques which were not permitted by Prophet Muhammad.
He also alleged that some of the country's politicians have fallen prey to extremist ideologies such as Wahabism and Salafism.
The BBS General Secretary added that he was ready to join hands with any party irrespective of political differences in order to defeat Islamic terrorism in the country.
