President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, upon the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will visit India on November 29, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said.
Jaishankar who arrived in Sri Lanka today (Nov 19), on Twitter said he had conveyed the Indian Premier’s message “for shared peace, progress, prosperity & security” to Rajapaksa.
“Confident that under his leadership, India – Sri Lanka relations would reach greater heights,” he tweeted.
Prime Minister Modi was among the first state leaders to congratulate Rajapaksa upon his election to office last Sunday.
