Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Former MP Duminda Silva along with seven others have been summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry this morning. Secretary of the Commission of Inquiry, Lacille De Silva was quoted by media as saying statements were being recorded from the former Defense Secretary regarding several charges including misusing properties and personnel of the state-owned security company for election campaign during the last presidential election. Western Provincial Councilor Upali Kodikara, Dehiwela- Mount Lavinia Mayor Dhanasiri Amaratunga were also among those who were summoned.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
