Former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was permitted to travel overseas from December 14 to January 14 by the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar today (November 09).
The request was made by President’s Counsel Romesh De Silva who appeared on behalf of Mr Rajapaksa.
Court ordered the release of Mr Rajapaksa’s impounded passport and ordered that the Controller General of the Department of immigration and emigration be notified to temporarily lift the travel ban imposed on the former Defence Secretary.
The case will be taken up again on the November 27, 2018.
