Govt considers increasing local council membership

Minster of Public Administration Karu Jayasuriya said that there was a proposal to Increase the number of local government council members by 25 percent. Mr Jayasuriya addressing a press briefing at information department said that the ministry of administration were supportive of the proposal. He explained that they also need to increase women representation in the local council. Meanwhile Local councils may be dissolved by Friday.
