The Government has decided to continue with the Chinese-assisted Colombo Port City Project, Cabinet Spokesman and Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratna said yesterday. Speaking at the weekly Cabinet press briefing, he said that the cabinet has decided to go ahead with the Port City Project after considering the feasibility study and the environmental impact assessment in order to avoid creating a misunderstanding with the Chinese government. Minister Senarathne also said that President Maithripala Sirisena will discuss the project with the Chinese government during his visit to China in March.
