The government, in its national policy released today (Dec 5), has targeted an economic growth of 6.5 percent or more between 2020 and 2025.
The policy framework titled ‘Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour’ aims to enhance family lifestyle, creat a just society, and a prosperous country in the next five years.
In its policy, the government said it aims to cut down unemployment rates to below four percent and also limit inflation to less than five percent.
The per capita income is also expected to go upto USD 6500 by 2025.
National Security, a non-aligned and cordial foreign policy, and a corruption-free government were among the top three priorities listed in the policy.
Other priorities included constitutional reforms to establish an accountable government, producing useful citizens, creating a people-centric economy, and building a society through technology.
The development of natural resources, ensuring sustainable environmental management, and establishing a disciplined society were among other priorities.
