Economist Lalithasiri Gunaruwan, attached to the Colombo University’s Economics Department, on Friday assumed duties as the Secretary to the Ministry of Internal Transport, officials said.
Dr. Gunaruwan has served earlier as Transport Ministry Secretary and General Manager Railways.
A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
