Minister Harin Fernando has taken wing to Australia in a bid to resolve the conflict that has developed recently between the national cricketers.
He held talks with former skipper Angelo Mathews and current ODI captain Lasith Malinga regarding the ongoing conflict yesterday (Jan 30) night.
The Minister of Sports had also said that he wanted to discuss this issue with the rest of the team's players who are currently touring Australia.
Certain critiques had claimed that the unity between the players had ceased to exist following a rift between Thisara Perera and Lasith Malinga in the recent past.
Mr. Fernando had said that it is essential to choose a talented team with just a few months remaining for the ICC World Cup tournament.
The Minister is expected to take part in the Independence Day celebrations along with the players at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Australia.
