Sri Lankans Hasini Jayatilaka, 28, and Asha de Vos, 39, have both earned international recognition.
Marine biologist Asha De Vos has been named among BBC's top 100 women due to her contribution towards marine conservation. She has contributed immensely to increase diversity, inclusivity and opportunity in the field of marine biology.
While Hasini .Jayatilaka, a post-gradual researcher at the Standford University was selected to the Forbes list under the Science category for her discovery on how cancer cells spread throughout a person's body and the methods of preventing it.
Her discovery has led to the development of new therapeutics concerning tumor growth and metastatis.
