Due to moist Easterly wind flow the possibility for rain over the island is still very high, the Met. department announced today. Showers or thundershowers will occur at times over Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces.
Thundershowers will develop at several places elsewhere, during 2.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. Fairly heavy rain falls (about 75mm) are also expected at some places.There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
