Transportation along the Nawalapitiya road was affected due to flooding caused by heavy rains experienced in the area since today (Jun 20) morning.
It is reported that around 500 metres of the road stretch starting from the Nawalapitiya Bus Stand until Gampola had been flooded due to the heavy rains.
The flooding had been caused as a result of a poor drainage system, area residents said adding that the road starts flooding even for the slightest rain.
