Security has been hightened in Hambantota in view of a planned protest due to be held today in Hambantota town (6). The protest is being organized against alleged plans to sell the Hambantota Port and the Mattala Airport.
A heavy police presence was visible in Hambantota town and surrounding areas this morning. The protest was due to commence at 10.00am.
