The All Ceylon Health Services Union (ACHSU)continued its strike action today as well. President of the ACHSU Samantha Koralearachchi quoted by local media said health workers attached to 30 grades are engaged in this strike action. The Union commenced its islandwide strike action citing ten demands including the payment of salary anomalies and providing healthworkers with a Rs. 3000 special allowance. The ACHSU said that over 40,000 health workers took part in the strike action on Tuesday which continued today by launching a demonstration in Colombo.
