Former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando has been asked to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing state sector corruption, on October 18.
Mr Fernando is due to give evidence before the PCoI, over alleged financial irregularities which had occured during the process of developing the digital platform of the People's Bank, during his tenure as its Chairman between 2016 and 2017.
A PCoI Spokesman said that the former defence secretary would be served notice by the Police Unit of the PCoI through the Prisons Commissioner General as he has been remanded until October 18.
