Hundred and sixty seven kilograms of heroin worth Rs 1.8 billion has been discovered at a residence in Moratuwa, Rawathawatta a short while ago, STF Commandant DIG M R Latiff told Times Online.
The discovery was made by officers attached to the Special Task Force (STF) at a residence believed to have been used as a warehouse by druglord 'Makandure Madush'.
A foreign pistol along with T-56 bullets in three boxes were also confiscated by STF personnel. A couple who were present at the time of the raid were also taken into custody.
Details pertaining to this residence surfaced during questioning carried out on Kelum Indika alias' Kaluma' who was arrested over the theft of a diamond worth Rs 5 billion.
