State universities and higher education institutes will be able to decide on the re-opening of institutions on any date from May 13 onwards, the University Grants Commission said today (May 10).
Accordingly, Vice Chancellors will be able to decide on the dates and modes of commencment of academic activities at their respective educational bodies, UGC Chairman Professor Mohan de Silva noted.
This would have to be decided upon the satisfaction of the Vice Chancellor in terms of safety and security of the educational institution, Professor Silva added.
