The case involving MP Hirunika Premachandra over allegations of kidnapping a teenager in Dematagoda will be heard on March 12 and 13, 2019.
This was announced when the case was taken up before the High Court today (Dec 11).
During the hearing today, High court judge Shashi Mahendran had issued summons from the second to the seventh witness to report before court on the next day of the hearing.
The High Court earlier imposed a suspended prison sentence on seven suspects who had been found guilty of committing the act.
Accordingly, the suspects were sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment suspended for 12 years.
They were further charged a sum of Rs 285,000 to be paid as compensation.
The Attorney General had filed a case against MP Hirunika Premachandra and nine others on 29 counts over the kidnapping of a teenager on December 21, 2015.
