A lubricant blending plant set up by Malaysia-based Hyrax Oil company with a USD 30 million investment was declared open by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Muthurajawela today (Jun 24).
The plant is expected to produce four million litres of lubricant for a month, the Prime Minister's office said adding that it would manufacture lubricants for 20 years for Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC). The plant is a Build, Operate and Transfer investment.
According to the Prime Minister's office, this would also contribute towards strengthening the partnership between both entities.The plant is the second of its kind which has been built outside Malaysia by Hyrax Oil.
