Police Chief Pujith Jayasundara has filed a fundamental rights petition against the decision to send him on compulsory leave in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attacks.
IGP Jayasundara had sought a Supreme Court order to reinstate him to his former position as his fundamental rights had been violated as a result of being sent on compulsory leave.
The Chairman and the members of the Constitutional Council have been named as respondents in the petition.
