The final rites of two Sri Lankan army personnel who lost their lives during a peacekeeping mission in Mali took place this Thursday.
The remains of postumously promoted late Major H.W.D Jayawickrama and Sergeant S.S Wijekumara were laid to rest at the Abhayapura General Cemetery in Polonnaruwa and the Ela General Cemetery at Polpithigama respectively.
Army Commander Mahesh Senanayake and UN Resident Coordinator Hanaa Singer were among those in attendance.
