Immigration officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) staged a silent banner protest this afternoon over the failure of authorities to resolve several demands they had put forward.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Immigration & Emigration Officers' Association says it will also launch a work-to-rule campaign from midnight today (17) over the issue.
SriLankan Airlines has urged all departing passengers, to arrive at the Colombo airport three hours prior to the departure time with effect from today (May 17) until further notice. This is in view of the work to rule campaign due to be launched by Immigration officers from tomorrow.
