President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (1) handed over five mobile libraries established inside buses to schools in five districts to celebrate World Children's Day.
The five schools which received the mobile libraries are Anuruddha Madya Maha Vidyalaya in Puttalam, Dolosbage Kanishta Vidyalaya in Gampola, Dharmapuram Government Tamil Mixed School, Kuruvita Vijaya Kumaratunga Vidyalaya, Vidyarthayodaya Maha Vidyalaya, Pilana.
Buses which had been removed from service due to their dilapidated state had been repaired to serve as these libraries. The total cost of one library is about Rs 1 million.
