The funeral of Prof Dhammika Ganganath Dissanayake was held last evening in Mattegoda.
Prof Dissanayake was former Head of the Department of Sinhala and Mass communication at the Sri Jayewardenepura University. He also He also served as the former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and as Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Japan.
A large number of mourners, including politicians, artistes, university lecturers and students were in attendance at the funeral.
