A protest march took place yesterday from the Abayaramaya Temple in Narahenpita to the Dharmapala statue in Colombo calling for a ban on cattle slaughter in the country.
The protest march was conducted to coincide with the 156th birth anniversary of Anagarika Dharmapala, which fell yesterday.
The march also featured cattle that had been saved from slaughter.
