Relatives of the fisherman who was shot dead by Angulana police last week protested opposite the Moratuwa Magistrate's Court this afternoon after the magisterial inquiry into his death.
The relatives were protesting reports that two key witnesses in the case had been taken away by Angulana police early this morning as well as the failure of law enforcement authorities to arrest the officers involved in the shooting.
Police later cleared the area around the court house of the protesters.
Three police officers who were allegedly involved in the incident have been interdicted.
Angry relatives of the victim and area residents subsequently pelted the Angulana police station with stones this evening.
