Two student unions engaged in a joint protest opposite the US Embassy in Colombo today (Jun 27) against the US government's intereference in Iran and Venezuela.
Members of the Revolutionary Students' Union and the Youth for Change student unions had engaged in this protest by holding slogans against the conduct of the US government.
The protestors claimed the US government did not have the right to interfere into the internal matters of other countries irrespective of the problems they might be facing
"We also wanted to forewarn the people that a similar fate might befall Sri Lanka," unionist Lahiru Weerasekara told Times Online.
