Indian National receives life imprisonment over narcotic offence
An Indian national has been sentenced to life imprisonment over a narcotic offence by the Negombo High Court yesterday (Oct 22).
Police said he had been convicted of smuggling, being in the possession, and trafficking of narcotics.
The suspect had been nabbed with 1.4 kilograms of heroin at the Bandaranaike International Airport earlier this month.
