A 22-year old Indian was arrested by the Police Narcotics Bereau at the Bandaranayake International Airport over allegedly attempting to smuggle a drug called 'Ice'.
The youth had departed from Chennai and reached Sri Lanka for the very first time, local media reported.
Police say that 484 g of the drug was found concealed in his luggage. Reportedly, the drugs are estimated to be valued at over 5.8 million rupees.
The suspect is expected to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today in order to get Detention Orders..
