A person has been killed after being abducted in Madurankuliya yesterday (Aug 29).
Police said its emergency unit had launched a probe after receiving information that an individual had been abducted.
However, Police had later learned that the body of a person which had been handed over to the Puttalam Hospital, had been of the abducted individual.
The victim has been identified as 29-year old Danushka Priyadharshana Fernando, a resident of Madurankuliya.
A post-mortem examination and a magisterial inquest will be carried out on the remains of the victim today. Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
