An individual has been nabbed along with a stock of kerala cannabis worth over Rs 23 million by the STF in Kilinochchi yesterday (Dec 20).
Police said the suspect was arrested with the stock of cannabis weighing 153.8 kilograms following a raid that was carried out upon a tip-off received by the STF.
The STF have also been able to seize a motorcycle and some cash that were found to be in the possession of the suspect.
The arrest was made when the suspect had attempted to distribute the stock of cannabis which was imported from India throughout the country - a trade which the suspect is reported to have been engaging in for a very long time.
