The Cabinet has granted approval to table an interim budget before Parliament in order to manage the expenses of the government for the first three months of 2019.
The approval was granted following a proposal submitted by Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Minister of Finance at the Cabinet meeting which was presided by President Maithripala Sirisena today (Nov 21).
Accordingly, the interim budget is expected to be put forward before Parliament in the near future.
