Iranians residing in Sri Lanka cast votes to select 12th Iranian President

Iranians residing in Sri Lanka started casting their votes for the twelfth Iranian presidential election in Sri Lanka at 8am local time on Friday, IRNA reported.

The voting time is from 8 am to 8 pm local time (02:30 GMT).

The Iranian presidential voting will also take place in 102 countries across the world.Voters should be at least 18 years old on the day of the elections, i.e. people born before May 19, 1999 can participate, the report said.

To cast their vote Iranian expatriates in other countries should present their national ID card and birth certificate. If, for any reason, they don’t have the documents, a valid Iranian passport will suffice.

Voting stations opened in Iran at 8am local time (03:30 GMT) on Friday for the 12th presidential and the fifth city and village council elections in about 63,500 polling stations.
