The IT Society in Sri Lanka has warned against responding to recent spam e-mails seeking financial assistance for investment needs of various individuals claiming to be top state officials.
Issuing a press release, IT Society Chairman Rajeev Yasiru pointed out that a considerable amount of Sri Lankans may have received such e-mails.
E-mail users could be easily duped into giving money under the pretext of being handed over the responsibility of monitoring the investment, the organisation said while cautioning users to refrain from responding to such e-mails.
