The Inter University Bikkhu Federation (IUBF) will launched a demonstration near the Fort Railway Station today, demanding the government to increase the intake of Buddhist monks to relevant university courses. IUBF is an affiliated union of the Inter University Students’ Federation. This protest follows two weeks after a protest by IUBF which led to clashes near the University Grants Commission. Police on April 29 used teargas on the protesters including Buddhist monks who marched from Fort Railway Station to University Grants Commission.
