Permanent employment will be provided to those members in low income earning families with minimum educational qualifications after giving them formal vocational training, the President’s Media Division (PMD) announced.
By providing them with these jobs they will be made regular income earners and their families rescued from poverty and the skills of this labour force is mobilized in building a country of prosperity.
In addition 50,000 state jobs will be given to graduates who have already been selected before the recently concluded general election, a senior official of the Public Administration Ministry said.
The Government’s programme to provide employment opportunities for 50,000 graduates and 100,000 low-income families will be resumed, the PMD revealed.
Those who have received the letters of appointment are required to report to their nearest District Secretariats on the 1st of September.
This employment generation programme for the needy had been temporarily halted due to the General Election 2020 but will be continued under the new government, a senior official said. The list of names of the graduates selected for the program will be published on the official website of the Presidential Secretariat on Sunday (August 16).
Meanwhile the letters for the selected graduates will be posted on August 17. The PMD said the selected graduates can contact the Presidential Secretariat if their names are not published on the list. (BS)
