Parliamentarian Johnston Fernando has been acquitted of one asset declaration case by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (Jan 29).
Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne while delivering the verdict stated that the charges filed by the Bribery Commission against MP Fernando could not be categorically proven.
Five cases have been filed by the Bribery Commission against Mr. Fernando for failing to declare his assets and liabilities from 2010 – 2014.
However, court has now acquitted the parliamentarian from failing to make his asset declaration in 2010.
