Supreme Court Judge Ms. Chandra Ekanayake was sworn in as the Acting Chief Justice before President Maithripala Sirisena this morning at the Presidential Secretariat.
The President made this appointment as the Chief Justice K. Sri Pavan is abroad.
Chandra Ekanayake was appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2008. Justice Ekanayake, an old-girl of Sanghamitta Girls’ College, Galle completed higher education at Sri Lanka Law College and was admitted to the Bar in 1974.
Secretary to the President P.B. Abeykoon was also present in the occasion.
