JVP launches manifesto, renounces armed struggle
The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna today claimed that it renounced armed struggle as a means of changing the world,party leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said
Mr Dissanayake made these comments at the launch of its election manifesto at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium this morning.
Speaking at the special national convention, he said the party regrets the wrong steps taken in the past. He said the modern world is totally different from what it was decades ago, and today the battle was among ideals.
He said that the country needs a revolutionary change in its policies to develop crucial sectors such as the economy, the education sector and the health sector.
