Ven Ududumbara Kashyapa Thera has begun a fast-unto-death protest against the proposed Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement at the Independence Square in Colombo.
Concerns have been raised against the government's decision to sign an agreement with MCC, which would see a grant of USD 400 million being granted to Sri Lanka.
A petition too has been filed against this decision at the Supreme Court.
