The Kilinochchi Campus of the Jaffna University has been temporarily closed down from last evening (13) until further notice owing to a COVID-19 scare.
The university administration took the decision to shut down the campus after the brother of a third year student at the campus tested positive for COVID-19.
The student had informed the university that her brother, a member of the armed forces serving at the Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Centre, had tested positive for COVID-19.
Accordingly, all exams scheduled to be held at the campus, as well as all academic activities, have been postponed until further notice. The student whose brother has tested positive for COVID-19 is also due to undergo a PCR test.
