The Crimes Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Kollupitiya police has died of a sudden illness while exercising at Galle Face Green today (26), Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
“The 42-year-old OIC had collapsed while jogging and was rushed to the National Hospital, Colombo. He was pronounced dead on admission. An autopsy is to be conducted today to find the cause of the death,” Mr. Rohana said.
He said the deceased had been suffering from heart ailments.
