Police have found a suicide note in a bag belonging to the woman who was killed with her children in a train collision in Kollupitiya yesterday (Jun 14).
According to the police, the note had claimed that the woman had decided to end her life as a result of poverty and health ailments.
The train had been heading towards Aluthgama from Colombo Fort at the time of the accident, police said.
Police have identified the woman as 32-year old Dharshani Ramaiiah, while the children have been identified as eight and 12-year old boys.
They were residents of Kotahena.
