The Colombo Fort Magistrate has remanded SLPP councillor Kulatissa Deeganage until January 18 over the unruly scenes at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation premises last year.
Mr. Deeganage has been accused of assaulting police security personnel of former Petroleum Minister Arjuna Ranatunga.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had pointed out that the suspect along with the group of other individuals had acted in an unruly manner which eventually led to the death of an officer at the CPC.
