Parliament sittings were adjourned early today due to a lack of quorum. The motion for today (Jan 25) was an adjournment debate on the delay of holding provincial council polls moved by UPFA MP Dullas Alahapperuma.
The debate began around 11.30 a.m. and was to end at 7.30 pm. but ended by 4.30p.m.
UNP MPs thrice raised the quorum requirement while the debate was on going and finally brought an end to the debate around 4.38 pm.
Sittings were adjourned till February 5.
