Lance Corporal J C I Nishanthi clinched a silver medal at an innovation contest held in Korea for her innovation of an incinerator that assists in the safe disposal of sanitary pads and other bio waste.
Nishanthi had beaten hundreds of contestants from 38 countries, Army said.
The product had been first exhibited to the public at the “Sahasak Nimavum 2018” National Invention and Innovation Exhibition last year.
The victorious Lance Corporal was welcomed to the country by several high ranking army officers including Colonel Pradeep Gamage, an Army Commanding Officer.
